Light of Hope Ceremony

On Friday, April 7th we kicked off April National Child Abuse Prevention Month with our annual Light of Hope Ceremoney at Sugar Land Town Square Plaza with help from Exchange Club of Sugar Land and Friends of Child Advocates of Fort Bend.  Bikers Against Child Abuse, Terri High School NHS  and area Girl and Boy Scouts also participated in the ceremony. The Girl Scouts had a booth where you could make a pinwheel. The event concluded by lighting City Hall in blue and was followed by a Giving Spirits concert featuring KDK Project. ROSENBERG EXCHANGE CLUB INSTALLS PINWHEEL FIELD
AT CAFB OFFICE FOR APRIL CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH!

On Friday, March 30th, members of the Rosenberg Exchange Club installed a pinwheel field in front of the CAFB office for Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Exchange Club Awareness Fields

The Exchange Club of Fort Bend and Rosenberg created two awareness fields – one in front of the Richmond Courthouse and another at the intersection of Highway 90 and Present Street. White stakes tied with blue ribbons were placed in the field, each representing a child served by Child Advocates of Fort Bend last year. CEO Ruthanne Mefford participated in the dedication ceremonies for both fields. She shared the story of the blue ribbon with all who attended. Do you know the story of the blue ribbon? Learn it and share it today. . . http://www.cafb.org/events/light-of-hope/

THANK YOU FBJSL Sustainers!

Fort Bend Junior Service League Sustainers took time during a recent meeting to cut blue ribbons for us to hand out during the month of April. The ribbons were handed out at our Light of Hope ceremony and will be available to anyone who wants to tie them around the trees in their yard to help spread awareness about April Child Abuse Prevention Month. If you would like ribbons for your trees or a blue ribbon to wear during the month of April, stop by our office or contact Tracy at tkorenek@cafb.org.
