Volunteer Training Schedule

Apply NOW!

To become a CASA Volunteer, you must be at least 21 years old, complete a Volunteer Application, agree to a Fingerprint Based Criminal Background Check and CPS Background Check and complete a pre-training interview with a member of the Volunteer Services Team. Once you have submitted your Volunteer Application and completed your interview, you will be ready to start training!

New CASA Volunteer Training requires a 30-hour pre-service training provided by Child Advocates of Fort Bend. Training is offered quarterly in various formats: days, evening and flex training (combined online/classroom) to accommodate your schedule. The training is comprehensive, interesting and ensures that you have all the information you need to be a successful CASA Volunteer when you are assigned your first case.

New CAC Volunteer Training requires only 16 hours of the above pre-service training provided by Child Advocates of Fort Bend. CAC Mentors must participate in an additional 4 hours of training.

Volunteers are also required to complete 12 hours of Continuing Education on an annual basis. This can include informational seminars, annual conferences, webinars, reading approved books or viewing topic-related videos.
